Being best friends with someone is an incredibly joyous experience. You laugh together, confide in each other, and share countless memories. The bond you share with them is special, and the fun you have together is indescribable.
But, as with any relationship, there are also challenges, offences and hurt and unfortunately, when these occur, they sometimes lead to separation or rejection.
Losing a best friend this way can be a heart-wrenching experience, one that may leave you feeling lost and alone. The thought of not having them in your life anymore may be overwhelming leaving a deep sense of emptiness.
You may find yourself reminiscing about the days when you two were inseparable as the memories you shared may now seem distant and fade away.
Sadly, grief is most times the natural response to such a loss and it’s only logical you feel the weight of their absence and the sadness that consumes you, with all these overwhelming emotions, it could be a struggle to move on but you should also know that healing from them does take time.
However, moving on is essential for your well-being and it’s decisive for you to start taking care of yourself and work on loving yourself. You need to focus on the present and the future, rather than dwelling on the past.
Like I often tell myself and as I have written below, rejection by a friend is not the end of the world. It’s an opportunity to grow, learn, and love yourself and the grief you feel is also part of your healing process.
You deserve to be happy, and you deserve to have healthy relationships. So, take the time to heal, take care of yourself and be positive about the future.
